Grind and seal is an option when seeking a polished look without the polished price tag or maintenance. Most older concrete slabs were not installed with the intent to polish. Often they were covered with tile or carpet because the exposed concrete look was not in style. The grind and seal process allows for repairs, aggregate exposure, and gloss control. Durable epoxy or acrylic coatings can be applied to achieve a satin, semi-gloss, or gloss finish.
Aggregate Exposure Level
Minimal exposure, concrete appears a sandy grey color.
Slight Exposure, small pebbles, and stones are visible in concrete.
Full Exposure, large stones, and pebbles visible in concrete.
